A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF PEABODY, KANSAS, FROM CERTAIN OF THE PROVISIONS OF KS.A. 15-209, RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF THE CITY ATTORNEY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF PEABODY, KANSAS:

SECTION 1. By the power vested in the City of Peabody, Kansas, by Article 12, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, said City hereby elects to exempt itself from and make inapplicable to it the following provision of K.S.A. 15-209, such provision being a part of an enactment applicable to the City of Peabody, but not applicable uniformly to all cities: “The city attorney shall be a qualified elector of the county in which said city is located or of an adjoining county.”
